Copenaghen 2003

Before starting to write this text I took a bike and cycled round the city. Many people cycle here. Each one at the speed they can stand. Putting some never written down gestural habits into practise. Two-wheeled civilization, democratic civilization. I thought, It will help me travelling over again the places that Giovanni Santi has taken pictures of, seeing them again, stealing those concepts that the city surrounds, making become mine those places that are until now postcard icons...Copenhagen is luxurious in a modern way; the oldest monarchy in the world reminds it to you and also in the suburbs there is an architectonic spirituality that succeeds in hiding unavoidable hysteria, western discomfort...
